Each iPump 6400 media server to drive two video channels
Johns Creek, Georgia – Wegener Corporation (OTCQB: WGNR.PK), a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the receipt of a $521,000 order for iPump 6400 media server equipment. The equipment will be used in an international health and education network.
WEGENER iPump 6400 media servers are part of an end-to-end media distribution solution to for live broadcasts and file-based programming. At remote locations, the iPump 6400 can seamlessly combine live and stored video content to play-out custom broadcasts.
“File-based broadcasting eliminates the retransmission of repetitive programming content,” stated Troy Woodbury, President and CEO of Wegener Corporation. “It is a cost effective solution for maximizing the use of local content and advertising into a programming lineup.”
Additional benefits of a WEGENER iPump media server video network include the distribution of multiple virtual channels, flexible support for satellite and Internet content delivery, IP video multicasting, time-shifting broadcasts and video on-demand.
The order was booked and is scheduled to ship during WEGENER’s current first fiscal quarter of 2011.
